What began as a passion project has evolved into something more. We’re proud of where we’ve been and even more excited for what’s About ZacaTejas

From the Soil of the Westside to the Communal Table

ZacaTejas is a culinary sanctuary where heritage meets technical mastery. Founded by Mrs. Sanchez, a Le Cordon Bleu-trained chef and 82nd Airborne veteran, ZacaTejas is dedicated to the "soil-to-table" philosophy—nurturing the land as intentionally as we nurture the people who sit at our table.

Our Roots

Born and raised in San Antonio’s deep Westside, Mrs. Sanchez founded ZacaTejas to honor the matriarchal traditions of her ancestry while applying the precision of her professional training. What began as a personal mission to preserve the flavors of home has grown into a multi-faceted culinary experience encompassing private catering, gardening education, and community gatherings.

What We Do

  • Curated Catering: We specialize in intimate, high-end private dining that tells a story through every course.

  • Victory Moon Gardens: We believe in the power of self-sufficiency. Through our gardening lessons and consultations, we help our community reconnect with the earth and grow their own "Victory" at home.

  • Communal Learning: Through our cooking classes, we share the technical skills of a professional kitchen with the heart of a home cook.

The Connection

ZacaTejas serves as the physical foundation for SALA Press. While the Press preserves our stories in ink, ZacaTejas preserves them in flavor. Together, they create a complete sensory experience of our culture, our resilience, and our future..

What sets us apart isn’t just our process—it’s the intention behind it. We take time to understand, explore, and create with purpose at every turn.
